In Prescribed Burn , Bianca Velasquez explores the parallels between ecological fire practices and personal transformation through beadwork and acrylic painting. Inspired by the short documentary Fire Tender and the Indigenous practice of cultural burning, the exhibition examines how intentional fire can create the conditions for renewal, suggesting that growth often requires sacrifice. In IRL , Brenna Cooper, Jeremiah Parkin, and Lizzie Windsor present a lens-based exhibition that marries image and object, emphasizing photographs as physical objects rather than windows into another time, place, or reality. Through distinct material explorations and a focus on ordinary subject matter, the artists invite viewers to reexamine their surroundings and reconsider the way they interact with photographic images.
