Kellie St. Pierre

"Exhilaratingly athletic and keenly original." — The Utah ReviewUtah-based choreographer and interdisciplinary artist Kellie St. Pierre creates immersive dance experiences that transform movement into vivid visual storytelling around socially relevant themes. A 2025 Palm Desert Choreography Festival Grand Prize winner, St. Pierre has earned recognition for works that highlights the kinesthetic and emotive interplay between human, environment, technology, and objects. She invites dancers and audiences into tactile worlds that shift perspective, research risk, and communicate on many levels.St. Pierre will develop a new work for the Stage Door Series commission, welcoming audiences to participate in a layered experience in which projection, moving surfaces, and dance merge the body with environment, highlighting the relationship between place, identity, and connection. Featuring five exquisite local dance collaborators, musicians, and production collaborators, the evening aims to provide a high-production scale experience, enriching the Salt Lake City multi-disciplinary scene. Intimate, thought-provoking, and visually captivating, this new work showcases one of Utah's most exciting voices in contemporary dance.  St. Pierre has been awarded the Pacific Monticello Emerging Choreographer through Regional Dance America. Some of her recent commissions include Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, Ballet Conservatory of San Antonio, SALT LINK Audition Festival, Ching Ching Wong, 801 Salon, loveDANCEmore, and several universities. As a performer, she danced for Donald McKayle’s Etude Ensemble and spent five seasons touring internationally with DIAVOLO | Architecture in Motion, during which the company was featured on America’s Got Talent, Season 12.    As a screendance artist, St. Pierre has been recognized for her films through Women in Dance Leadership Conference Los Angeles & Dance Film Festival in Yokohama, Japan, Cinedanza International Festival, For This Earth Screendance Festival, and Utah International Dance Film Festival.   St. Pierre is currently on faculty at the University of Utah, passionately continuing the education of dance as art and life. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Dance and Screendance from the University of Utah in 2023, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine.
