Among all forms of physical activity, Tai Chi Ch’uan is perhaps the most accessible, convenient, and economical way to improve both physical health and mental well-being. As Yang Style Tai Chi master Cheng Man-Ching once said, ‘Those who understand the importance of exercise for health will find Tai Chi Ch’uan indispensable.’ While Tai Chi may not be easy to master, consistent practice will yield results. In this class, we will focus on cultivating chi, building endurance and strength, and developing core alignment, all while learning to release tension. Tai Chi training offers many levels of progression. In Yang Style, when practiced correctly, it becomes an aerobic workout, despite minimal movement. Additionally, it serves as a form of meditation. Please wear comfortable clothing. Flat shoes, socks, or bare feet are ideal. Students are encouraged to train at their own pace, and progression will vary from person to person.
