Sounds of the Season Holiday Concert, featuring Seasons Chorale and Orchestra

Seasons Chorale and Orchestra will present “Sounds of the Season” Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 and 7 p.m. at Bingham High School in South Jordan. Produced by SoJo Choral Arts, the concert features approximately 150 singers under conductor Ben Chapman, with Barbara Rex directing the orchestra. The celebration reaches beyond the stage. Ticket proceeds help sustain choir operations and tuition-free music education while supporting Make-A-Wish, area shelters and local families in need. For audiences, an afternoon or evening of holiday music becomes an opportunity to help others. For the first time, advance tickets are available at sojochoralarts.org . Following standing-room-only audiences in recent years, online reservations allow concertgoers to secure tickets beforehand and avoid the ticket line upon arrival. Stanley founded the choir in 2005 and retired from conducting in 2023. She died July 5 at age 88. Her enthusiasm delighted audiences and helped turn a group of singers into a musical family. That connection extended beyond performances. Composer Mark Hayes attended her final Christmas concert as conductor, then surprised her the following year with a private piano concert at her assisted living residence. Today, Seasons Chorale welcomes singers of different faiths and backgrounds, continuing Stanley’s tradition of bringing people together through music. In June 2027, the choir will participate in a musical residency with Sir John Rutter in London and Bath, extending those connections overseas.
