Basic Sailing Keelboat Class - 06

Our Keelboat class will introduce you to two different boats: the Holder 20 and the RS Venture. Both have a mainsail and jib. The keelboats require two people to rent at the Aquatic Center (only one person needs to be certified). Students will be grouped for on-the-water training. The Holder 20 is perfect for those interested in learning how to sail a larger style of sailboat while the Venture bridges the gap between the Quest and the Holder. Both keelboats have bench style seating and can comfortably accommodate 4-5 adults. On-the-water skills covered include docking, person overboard recovery, and sail trim. Students will be required to perform a brief swim test. There is no capsize recovery required as the boat is extremely unlikely to capsize.
