Delete Your Haps Account

This page explains how to delete your Haps account (the event-discovery app, package org.rustdev.haps) and the data associated with it. You can delete your account directly in the app, or request deletion by email if you no longer have the app installed.
Option 1 — Delete in the app
- Open Haps and go to Settings (the gear icon in the bottom navigation).
- In the Account section, tap Delete account.
- Confirm on the “Delete your account?” prompt.
Your account and associated data are deleted immediately, and you are signed out. This option appears once you have signed in with Google or Apple.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can’t access the app, email admin@thehaps.app from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line “Delete my account.” We verify ownership of the address and delete the account and its data within 30 days (usually much sooner). There is no charge.
Delete specific data without closing your account
You don’t have to delete your whole account to remove data. You can:
- In the app: turn off Settings → Share usage data to stop usage analytics, and use Settings → Reset dismissed events to clear your dismissed history.
- By email: email admin@thehaps.app describing the data you’d like removed (for example your saved events, check-ins, or usage analytics). We action these requests within 30 days, and your account stays active.
What gets deleted
- Your account and profile (email address, display name, and profile picture obtained from Google/Apple sign-in)
- Your saved events, dismissed events, and check-ins
- Any events you submitted through the app
- Your authentication records on our backend
What is kept
- Anonymous usage analytics (e.g. app opens, screens viewed) are de-identified — the link to your account is permanently removed so the remaining records can no longer be associated with you. They are never tied back to your identity. See our Privacy Policy.
- We retain information only where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, and only for as long as the law requires.
