World Suicide Prevention Day Candlelight Vigil

Four Corners Behavioral Health hosts a candlelight vigil at Swanny City Park for World Suicide Prevention Day, which falls on Sept. 10 each year. The gathering begins at 7 p.m. The vigil is a space for community members who have lost someone to suicide, who have experienced a suicidal crisis, and for the family and friends who support people in mental health crisis. At 8 p.m., participants light candles alongside observances worldwide; battery-operated candles are provided. Prevention coordinator Beth Wright staffs Four Corners' Moab office. If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Announced at the Moab City Council meeting Aug. 25, 2026.
