"Sappho on Tour: How a 'Pop Star' of Ancient Greece Influenced Modern Culture," an Aggie Talks Presentation

Join the Office of Research on July 29th for "Sappho on Tour: How a 'Pop Star' of Ancient Greece Influenced Modern Culture," an Aggie Talks presentation. During the event, Dr. C.R. Grimmer will discuss the impact that the Greek poet Sappho had on the ancient and modern world, from literature and lyricism to ideas of individualism, democracy, and desire. Dr. Grimmer, an assistant professor in the Department of English, will also share some poetry from their new book, "Poets as Public Scholars: Contemporary Poetics in an Age of Social Media."
