The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources hosts a free viewing event on the banks of the San Rafael River at the historic San Rafael Swinging Bridge, where the public can see three of Utah's native fish species up close: the bluehead sucker, flannelmouth sucker and roundtail chub. Biologists will explain how to identify each species, how the fish have adapted to survive in a harsh desert environment, and the conservation efforts underway to restore these native fish populations. Wear clothing suitable for a hot desert environment and comfortable shoes, and bring plenty of water. The event is free but limited to 40 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Register in advance on Eventbrite to save your spot. Media contact: DWR Southeastern Region Outreach Manager Brandon Behling, 435-650-2081.
