Sports Conditioning and Performance-Supervisor, Exercise is Medicine On Campus Title: Strengthspan: The Importance of Strength Throughout the Lifespan Dr. Marcus Lawrence is currently an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director for the M.S. in Sports Conditioning and Performance at Southern Utah University in the Department of Kinesiology and Outdoor Recreation. He grew up in the central valley of California and did his undergraduate work at California State University Monterey Bay, Master's work at Appalachian State University, Doctoral work at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and Postdoctoral work at Colorado State University and Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. His passion surrounds teaching in the Exercise Sciences and involving students in hands on research opportunities. His training has given him the skill set to perform basic to applied research, focusing on maintaining or improving skeletal muscle health in a variety of populations using exercise-, nutritional-, or pharmaceutical interventions. Outside of work you can find him with his wife, daughter, and 3 dogs on a local trail mountain biking, running, or hiking.
