August ArtWalk with Guest Artist Sandi Snead

This quarter’s Moab ArtWalk will take place on Friday, August 7th from 5-8pm at various locations around downtown Moab, including Moonflower Co-op. Stop by the Datura Deli and check out the art on display for the month by local artist Sandi Snead. Sandi Snead is a painter and multidisciplinary artist based in Moab, Utah and is known for her expressive and dramatic landscape paintings. She has been involved with the local art scene for over 25 years and was the founder of PleinAir Moab (which later morphed into the Red Rock Arts Festival), and is also one of the founding members of Gallery Moab. Snead is somewhat new to chicken ownership and never thought she’d become such a chicken person, but says, “Here I am, completely obsessed with my little flock.” Whether depicting the inner life of her subjects or the quiet majesty of the local landscape, Snead brings an intuitive, lyrical approach to all her work. Come see her latest collection of work, “My Ten Chickens,” a whimsical art exhibit of oil paintings celebrating the unique personalities of her sweet feathered friends—guaranteed to make you smile—and join her for the “chicken dance” during the August Moab Artwalk. Sandi will be available to answer questions and chat about her work and will have prints and cards for sale. Stamp your ArtWalk postcard at all the locations for a chance to win a prize from Moab Arts. Light refreshments—including deviled eggs—will be provided.
