Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff Date: Sept. 15 Time: Noon - 2 p.m. Location: Stewart Bell Tower Plaza, WSU Ogden Food: Light Hispanic and Latino refreshments provided from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Description: The Student Success Center welcomes Hispanic Heritage Month by engraving bracelets under the guidance of Luis Calderon, Ecuadorian Artisan. Bracelets available for the first 60 attendees, first come, first served. Free photos at “El Pueblito” with members of the WSU Ballet Folklorico and vendors from Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and Africa. El Mercadito Date: Sept. 15 Time: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Location: Stewart Bell Tower Plaza, WSU Ogden Description: Explore vendors, artisans and crafts from Oaxaca, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Africa, and Ogden. Hispanic/Latino Parade Date: Sept. 15 Time: Noon Location: Parade begins outside of the Miller Administration Building and ends at the Shepherd Union. Description: Wear your traditional attire and walk with the flag that represents your heritage. Celebrate the heritage of countries including: Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, and Spain. Led by the Hispanic Area Council student leaders (HAC). No music, microphones, or signs allowed at parade.
