Sol LeWitt x Cornelius Cardew: Treatise at UMOCA

Join UMOCA and Interdisciplinary Arts Collective (IAC) for a rare, intermedial performance of Cornelius Cardew’s seminal 1967 graphic score, *Treatise*. Presented in dialogue with the National Gallery of Art’s loan of Sol LeWitt’s *Wall Drawing No. 309*, this immersive event celebrates two pivotal conceptual figures who fundamentally expanded the definitions of visual art, musical notation, and instruction-based systems.

The evening begins at 6:00 PM with a brief opening talk at LeWitt’s *Wall Drawing No. 309*, framing the dynamic intersection between visual art and experimental music before moving into the Main Gallery for the performance.

This is a durational, site-fluid performance that moves throughout the museum space. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Audience members are encouraged to move freely, entering and exiting the space throughout the 2-hour duration.
