Utah Merci Car Celebration

Join us as we welcome back the historic Merci Car! Originally a part of the Merci Train (Gratitude train), this car was gifted from the French to the U.S. in 1949. Utah’s Merci Car was sent to Wyoming in 2024 for restoration. It is now time to welcome it home. We invite you and your family to celebrate its restoration, honor our veterans, and learn about the symbolism of gratitude and friendship represented by the Merci Car. 12 pm: Veteran’s Walk with the American Legion Post 9 (Meet at the Ogden Amphitheater) 12 pm to 2 pm: Outdoor Reception with the Merci Car Display (Eccles Rail Center) 2 pm: Dedication Ceremony (Union Station's Browning Theater)
