Batik Bandana — a make-and-take art workshop Wed., Oct. 21 | 5:30-8:00 p.m. | Arts & Crafts Studio (21+) Explore the bold color, layered pattern, and beautiful unpredictability of batik, a traditional wax-resist textile art technique. In this hands-on workshop led by long time art teacher and beloved community fixture, Julie Lewis, participants will learn the basics of applying wax to fabric, building a design through resist, and dyeing the fabric to create a one-of-a-kind batik bandana. No prior experience is needed. Come ready to experiment, get a little waxy, and enjoy an evening of creative play in good company. All materials are included, so you only need to bring yourself and a willingness to try something new. Space is limited.
