Loose Shoes 4th Saturday Contra Dance

Contra Dance has evolved from the historic traditions of English Country Dance, Scottish Country Dance, and French Contredanse, and is popular across the US. It is normally danced in long lines of couples that interact with each other in repeating movement patterns directed by a caller (who teaches each dance). Live music is part of its charm, with the Loose Shoes band playing lively old time music paired to each dance. You don't need a partner, although coming with a date or a friend makes the evening more special. Meet new people and discover the benefits of dancing for fun. Teaching begins at 7:30 pm for beginners, with the dance starting at 8:00 pm and running until 10:30 pm. The cost is $8 for adults, $15 for 2 adults, $5 for children.
