GCSD Clap-In and Community Welcome

Community members are invited to welcome students on the first day of the 2026-27 school year. Grand County School District is running the Clap-In across three schools on a staggered schedule. Grand County High School, 7:15-7:30 a.m. — a gentle welcome in front of the school. Emergency vehicles stage in the parking lot so parents can still use the drop-off zone. Margaret L. Hopkin Middle School, 7:30-7:45 a.m. — in front of the building, with cinnamon buns from the Child Nutrition Program. Helen M. Knight Elementary, 8:00-8:15 a.m. — a Soul Train line along the sidewalk with the gate open. Park in the main lot or along W 400 North. Noise makers, signs and costumes are welcome.
