A Halloween for Every Brain

Halloween should be fun for everyone so we’re creating a celebration designed with every brain in mind! The heart behind this event is to create a space where underrepresented and often misunderstood children feel seen, safe, and included. Instead of asking neurodivergent children and families to adapt to an environment that wasn’t created with them in mind, we are creating an environment that adapts to them. Everyone is invited to join us in celebrating children and individuals of all abilities! Join us at The Gateway for A Halloween for Every Brain! Local small businesses will be passing out candy, toys, sensory items, and other fun surprises as families enjoy trick or treating together. The event will offer a more controlled and supportive Halloween experience, with clear instructions and everything available in one place. Children can enjoy dancing and movement in our music and entertainment area, take a break in the calming sensory area, and participate in fun Halloween themed activities designed for different sensory needs. Families can access sensory support tools such as noise canceling headphones, weighted vests, fidgets, and more. We’ll also have one-on-one behavior support, visual and communication tools, free autism screeners, plus community resources to help families find services suited to their needs. Our goal is to give every child the freedom to experience Halloween in the way that feels best for them while giving parents the support and peace of mind to enjoy the celebration too!
