Open Studio: Bird Paintings

Open studio workshops at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts invite you to explore your artistic potential and the galleries! Roots Art Kollective (RAK), Miguel Galaz (Mexican, born 1993) Alan Ochoa (Mexican, born 1994) Roots of Time, 2025, acrylic paint As a part of the recent re-installation of the UMFA’s Mexican art collection, the collaborative muralist group Roots Art Kollective (RAK) created a beautiful mural for the space. This artwork spans the back wall of the new Mexican art gallery and features a quetzal bird. Find inspiration in this stunning mural, and the art depicting birds throughout the Museum, then create a painting on canvas featuring your favorite bird!
