Douglas Rushkoff - Team Human: Remaking Society Together as the Team We Are

Thursday, October 1 Grace Adams Tanner Lecture in Human Values Douglas Rushkoff – Author, Documentarian, and Media Theorist Title: Team Human: Remaking Society Together as the Team We Are Douglas Rushkoff, named one of the world’s most influential intellectuals by MIT, will deliver the 45th Grace Adams Tanner Lecture in Human Values at Southern Utah University on October 1. His lecture “Team Human: Remaking Society Together as the Team We Are,” which focuses on creativity, empathy, and artificial intelligence, will be held in the Gilbert Great Hall of the Hunter Alumni Center at 11:30 a.m. As a documentarian and scholar, Rushkoff works to reveal how new media and technology impact culture, business, and the economy. His PBS Frontline documentaries, centered on media, marketing, and youth culture, are appraised as essential viewing. Rushkoff is the author of 25 books on culture, media, and technology, including Team Human, a manifesto on civilization, human nature, and how people, as social creatures, achieve the most when working together. He also hosts the podcast Team Human, in which he discusses agency, social justice, and other complex human issues with guest speakers. Additionally, Rushkoff is a professor of media theory and digital economics at CUNY/Queens College, a senior research fellow at the Institute for the Future, a fellow at the Institute for General Semantics, a Club of Rome permanent member, and the Team Human Ambassador at ANDUS Labs.
