HUMANITIES & LECTURE SERIES Utah Poet Laureate Lisa Bickmore Tuesday, December 1, 2026 Social Hour at 6:30p // Presentation at 7:30p Join Utah Poet Laureate Lisa Bickmore for an evening of poetry, stories, and conversation at Kayenta. Bickmore is the author of three collections of poetry: Haste , flicker , winner of the 2014 Antivenom Prize, and Ephemerist . Her poem “Eidolon” received the 2015 Ballymaloe International Poetry Award, and her poetry and other work have appeared in Glass: A Journal of Poetry, Tar River Poetry, Sugar House Review, Terrain.org, The Moth, and numerous other publications. Born in Delaware, Bickmore grew up living throughout the United States and in Japan before making her home in Utah. She recently retired as a Professor of English at Salt Lake Community College, where she taught writing and publication studies and helped found the SLCC Publication Center. In 2019, she founded Lightscatter Press, a nonprofit literary press dedicated to innovative and multimodal publishing. At Kayenta, Bickmore will read selections from her work and share some of the experiences and ideas behind her poetry, followed by a Q&A with the audience.
