The Celebration of Glen Canyon Exposed

Four voices, one evening: award-winning storyteller Craig Childs , photographer and exhibit co-curator Dawn Kish , master printmaker and co-curator Richard Jackson , and Hopi cultural educator Georgie Pongyesva gather to explore Glen Canyon through literature, photography, artistic collaboration and Indigenous knowledge. In the 1950s, photographer Tad Nichols made one of the most enduring visual records of Glen Canyon before the dam. After Nichols' death, his friend and collaborator Richard Jackson became steward of one of his Crown Graphic 4×5 cameras — and later entrusted it to Dawn Kish, who carried it back into the canyon to photograph a landscape few expected to see again. Their paired historic and contemporary images became the exhibition Glen Canyon Exposed – Then + Now . The evening includes a reception, presentations by each guest, audience conversation, and a final chance to see the exhibition before it closes and travels to its next museum.
