Catherine Velasquez: Workshop and Artist Talk

Join the Eccles Ceramic Studio in welcoming local artist Catherine Velasquez! Catherine will lead a demo-based workshop October 7th and 8th from 11 am- 6pm. Catherine Velasquez is a ceramic artist who uses traditional handbuilding methods to create her sculptures. She utilizes a multi-layered surface treatment to enhance the textures naturally created by the hand. Her delicate surface work and plump forms are inspired by the Chinese and Colombian artwork decorating her grandparents' homes; such as traditional floral motifs, modular origami, and Botero.
