Poetry Reading | Mischa Willett

Join poet Mischa Willett at Pioneer Book for an evening of poetry from his new collection, This Gift Card Has Already Been Redeemed , published by Paraclete Press. With wit, formal play, and an eye for the strange comedy of ordinary life, Willett’s poems move through art, faith, love, disappointment, prayer, and the unexpected places where grace turns up. Scott Cairns praises the collection’s “wit, wordplay, and wisdom” and the “deep and grounding ison note of joy” beneath its heartbreak and consolation. Willett is also the author of The Elegy Beta and Phases and directs the Whitworth Writers Workshop in Spokane. The reading begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 5 , at Pioneer Book in Provo and is free and open to the public .
