You're The Best! Opening Reception

Join us on Saturday, June 20 at 7 PM for the opening reception of *You’re The Best!*, a solo exhibition by local artist Bianca Velasquez. *You’re The Best!* reimagines the idea of winning and the value we place on achievement. Inspired by a vast collection of unused trophy parts salvaged from a now-closed Salt Lake City shop called Trophies INC, the exhibition explores how competition can sometimes overshadow passion, turning something once done for love into a measure of worth.

Once symbols of success, these trophy fragments sat forgotten for years, separated from the people and moments they were meant to honor. By reconstructing and remixing these parts with humor and playfulness, *You’re The Best!* recontextualizes the seriousness of traditional awards culture. What was once a symbol of hierarchy becomes a celebration of shared effort, creativity, and joy.

Rather than a hall demanding reverence, the exhibition invites laughter, curiosity, and connection. Each piece offers a playful reminder that the real reward is not the object itself, but the experience, dedication, and pleasure behind it.
