Utah Pacific Island Heritage Month, (UPIHM) officially recognized in 2012, builds on a legacy that began in 1889 with Hawaiian Pioneer Day. It honors the rich traditions, histories, and contributions of Pacific Islanders across the state. The 2026 UPIHM Kick-Off launches a month of statewide celebrations rooted in strength and unity.
