Unite and Rise for Voting Rights

The League of Women Voters of Salt Lake and community partners are marking the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 with two community events focused on education, engagement, and voter activation. Each session features a different guest speaker and a voting‑rights documentary offering historical context and lived perspectives, along with nonpartisan voter education, voter registration, and opportunities to connect with organizations strengthening democracy.Attendees may join either night or both: Thursday, August 6 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the Marmalade Library (Salt Lake City), and Thursday, August 13 from 5:30–8:30 p.m. at the Viridian Event Center (West Jordan). RSVPs help with planning but are not required; walk‑ins are welcome, and guests are encouraged to bring friends, family members, or young voters.
