Geeks Speak Student Research Seminar Series

In this interdisciplinary, cross-campus student seminar series, student presenters will share their research findings. Talks will begin at 12 noon in Meldrum 110, and lunch will be served.

The September interdisciplinary seminar will feature:

Diego Escalante (Dr. Julian Mendez), who will discuss their examination of failed masculinity and how societal expectations of manhood influence men's emotional expression, identity, and behaviors.

Adilen Yanez Maciel (Dr. Jared Branch), who will present their studies on how Botox influences accuracy in identifying facial expressions associated with emotions and the perceived genuineness of those emotions.

Caden Proulx (Dr. Jingsai Liang), who will speak on their work training machine learning models to locate and identify brine fly larvae in aquatic environments.

Lauren Rothman (Dr. Bonnie Baxter), who will discuss cyanobacteria's role in maintaining microbialite structures in the Great Salt Lake.
