Speaker Series with Tyler Whitaker

Tyler Whitaker is a technology entrepreneur, software executive, and the CTO and Co-Founder of BuildAngel.ai, an AI-powered construction technology company bringing greater transparency, accuracy, and cost control to the custom-home building process. BuildAngel uses artificial intelligence and current local market data to provide homeowners with construction estimates, competitive trade bids, fair-market pricing insights, and tools to better manage their projects from planning through completion. Before BuildAngel.ai, Tyler co-founded Leading2Lean (L2L), a cloud-based Lean Manufacturing Execution System designed to help manufacturers improve operational performance. Throughout his career, he has held engineering, development, and technology leadership roles with companies including WordPerfect Corporation, Sento Corporation, Echopass Corporation, Symbiot Business Group, and Berkeley Data Systems. Beyond his work in technology and entrepreneurship, Tyler has been actively involved in community and nonprofit service. He has served on national boards for Families Supporting Adoption and United for Adoption, as well as on his local charter school’s expansion board. Tyler and his wife also founded a nonprofit inspired by her longtime efforts to make and donate blankets to local hospitals and other organizations. Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University. His career reflects a passion for building technology-driven solutions to real-world problems and turning innovative ideas into scalable businesses.
