NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Telescope Launch Viewing

This is a free, virtual watch party! The ⁠Roman Space Telescope will study dark energy and exoplanets with a 100x wider view than Hubble. Join us at Clark Planetarium and witness the Roman Space Telescope launch on August 30, 2026 at 05:20 am MDT. The Roman Telescope will launch on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Named after NASA’s first chief astronomer, the ‘mother of the Hubble Space Telescope,’ the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will have a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble's, potentially measuring light from a billion galaxies in its lifetime. This observatory will also be able to block starlight to directly see exoplanets and planet-forming disks, complete a statistical census of planetary systems in our galaxy, and settle essential questions in the areas of dark energy, exoplanets, and infrared astrophysics. Our doors will open at 5:00 a.m. with NASA LIVE streaming in the Northrop Grumman IMAX® Theatre with an anticipated launch at 5:20 a.m. MDT.
